During Year 12, students who have the potential to make a competitive application to Oxford or Cambridge, or for Medicine, Dentistry, or Veterinary science, are invited to join the Oxbridge Group and Super Curriculum Programme.
The group meets regularly to explore critical thinking, debating and current affairs to prepare students for Admissions Tests and interviews. One-to-one meetings with the Oxbridge Support Coordinator allow students to discuss their super-curricular studies and get support with writing Personal Ptatements. During the year, our Oxford and Cambridge Alumni visit the school to give their perspective on applications and interviews.
Members of the Oxbridge Group have the opportunity to visit one of our link colleges (St Anne's, Oxford and Peterhouse, Cambridge) for a Taster Day. We also take students to the Oxbridge Conference in Epsom. These trips give students the opportunity to talk to current students and tutors about the courses they are interested in, and get support with Personal Statements and interviews. Students also have the opportunity to attend Application Workshops at a local school in the borough, which also help refine personal statements and prepare for interviews.
