Welcome to Bishop Ramsey School
I am both delighted and extremely proud to welcome you to Bishop Ramsey School.
Bishop Ramsey is a Christian learning community. As a Church of England school, we work closely with the Diocese of London and education at Bishop Ramsey is based on our Christian view of the world. Our distinctive aims and values seek to ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop their individual skills and talents and that they become responsible and caring adults.
We openly value and actively celebrate the diversity of our school community to ensure it is a place where everyone can be themselves and this is a very important and distinct aspect of our approach.
Bishop Ramsey has a strong reputation for academic excellence underpinned by consistently impressive GCSE and A Level results; a consequence of our relentless commitment and ambition to ensuring that each and every student achieves of their very best. Our success is down to our students’ hard work and pride as members of our school, our excellent staff and a broad and varied academic and pastoral curriculum. Our educational environment emphasises traditional standards of uniform and discipline set within a culture of personal responsibility and compassion with a focus on service not self. Our genuine partnership with parents/carers is an important central aspect of how we work.
We see the time that our young people spend at Bishop Ramsey as part of a very important journey of discovery, development and self-awareness and we aim to motivate and inspire our students to set course on the brightest of futures. We view education as a continuum and strive to instil a genuine love of life-long learning in our young people so that they can access excellent opportunities for the next stage in their education, training or careers. Our extensive co-curricular and extra-curricular enrichment provision is extremely important and central to our students’ experience, along with our student leadership and House systems, and we are committed to finding and developing everything that is exceptional in each child, enabling them to flourish.
